As part of the giant French logistics group Geodis, Fortec uses unique scanning and bar coding technology for each assignment, which ensures easy tracking of pallets from collection to delivery. Requirement: Fortec contacted Spaciotempo when they were embarking on a major investment involving a new bar-coding facility. A temporary building one and a half times the length of an artic was required adjacent to the central Hub near Rugby to serve as a scanning tunnel for inbound and outbound vehicles. Solution: Within 48 hours a 10m wide, 15m long and 6m high temporary building was erected by Spaciotempo. As per the requirement both ends of the structure were left clear creating a tunnel. Lights were fitted to the ceiling ensuring the 24-hour operation was able to continue. Benefit: Together with providing the area for scanning, the temporary building supplied has created additional unloading space for Fortec, which has eliminated queuing vehicles at the entrance and outside the premises. |
