Temporary Building Solution for Premium Irish Cider

Background: C&C Group is one of the Ireland’s largest manufacturers, marketers and distributors of branded beverages and savoury snacks.  The company also exports a range of spirits and liqueurs to over 80 overseas markets.  The group recently launched ‘Magners’ in the UK; the export brand of Bulmers cider.   Magners Original Irish Cider is now the fastest growing packaged cider in the country. 

Requirement: The immense increase in demand for the new Magners - not just in the UK , but in Europe and the Middle East too - took the Group slightly by surprise and their existing stock holding area became inadequate for the escalating production. An urgent solution was needed to ensure all the orders were met in a timely manner.   John Hayes, Head of Logistics at the Tipperary site, considered hiring off-site space, but decided against it due to previous experience with difficulties in controlling the stock and the additional expense in overheads such as transport costs.

Solution: After approaching a couple of temporary building companies based in Ireland, John then looked up Spaciotempo and made a visit to the UK headquarters in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire.  Several proposals, conversations and CAD drawings later, John was confident that Spaciotempo had the best product and most professional approach. At the Bulmers Tipperary site, Spaciotempo provided an incredible 7,500 m² of additional warehousing space made up of 5 buildings, 30m wide by 50m long and 6m high, gutter linked together.   Included within the building specification was a double skinned air-filled PVC Polyester coated roof and UPVC wall panels in green – both these systems considerably assisting the insulation factor. The buildings also included twelve personnel fire doors, five electric roller shutter doors and 135 240watt mercury lights!
