Case Study

The UK’s premier garden centre has joined forces with the country’s leading provider of temporary buildings to create a 975m2 storage facility at its Worcestershire site. From an initial order back in 2007 for a small storage unit for the burgeoning business, Webb’s of Wychbold has now specified its third consecutive building structure from Spaciotempo.

The new building – which adjoins the two existing ones – is 15m x 35m with a 4.2m eave height. As each building has been added, they have been gutter linked and side walls have been removed to create a single, larger storage space. To reduce costs and maximise efficiency, each time a new structure is added the walling from one side of the original building is used to form a new wall on the extended building. With this latest addition, the resulting area will now total some 975m2 and house stock and equipment for the garden centre’s operations.

Crowned GCA Garden Centre of the Year for two out of the last three years, Webbs of Wychbold is a family business providing over fifty acres of garden centre, inspirational gardens and a well stocked nursery. It has developed a reputation for quality in all aspects of its business.

It is the success of the existing buildings from Spaciotempo and the modular nature of the structures which appealed to David Lowe, Senior Manager at Webbs and led to the latest order. The whole project benefits from a thermo roof with steel-clad walling for extra protection. The building is built to the same British standards as permanent buildings and is highly secure.
