Spaciotempo provides temporary warehouse as a response to growth
A thriving firm in Stoke-on-Trent has twice turned to the UK’s leading temporary building specialist for a cost effective storage space solution, after seeing a boom in business.
Robust Doors, which designs, manufactures and installs doors, has almost doubled its turnover from £6.5 million to £12 million since it moved from Cheadle in Staffordshire to its current site in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent.
The company’s success led to an urgent need for additional cost-effective storage space so that it could react quickly and effectively to customer contracts.
It first contacted Spaciotempo in 2014 when it required a 50sqm building with two roller shutter doors to house large orders and work in-progress.
The business has since expanded further and this summer Chief Executive Officer David Lycett decided the time was right to install an additional structure to increase site space.
The Spaciotempo team visited the company to discuss David’s requirements and conduct a detailed site survey before drawing up a recommendation for a canopy measuring 10m wide x 20m long x 5m at eave height.

“There are so many positives to using temporary structures. They give us the ability to react quickly to market conditions – we can extend the buildings if we see an increase in trade or, alternatively, reduce or even dismantle them if there is a decline.
“Spaciotempo’s extremely professional team installed each of the structures within a matter of weeks which meant we could take on additional business straight away. We didn’t need boardroom approval for a large capital investment to fund a permanent building and we avoided a lengthy, and potentially disruptive, construction process.
“The structures have been incredibly beneficial to Robust Doors. We have been able to take on larger, more profitable contracts which has been positive for the company, our staff and customers.”
