When Sertec Group Holdings approached Spaciotempo to increase space at their Tube and Pressings plant in Tyseley, Birmingham they wanted a solution which was bespoke in every way. Driven by business growth, Sertec’s requirement was for a temporary industrial building that could link to their existing production facility, providing extra space for production, as well as storage and loading. Versatility and a bespoke solution was key, in the solution which they wanted from Spaciotempo.
Scott Jameson, Spaciotempo’s Managing Director, explains how Spaciotempo delivered a specification which more than met Sertec’s requirements; “Because production personnel would be working in the temporary building all the time, not only was it important for the building to be well insulated, but heated as well. Our specification provided hard gables and a thermo roof as well as gas central heating which is a great solution.”
“Sertec also needed to enable loading and unloading by large articulated vehicles directly into the building – so we installed a six-metre-wide speed door as well, which really helps operational efficiency.”
We were delighted with the end result, and so was the customer, who subsequently placed orders for two further Spaciotempo temporary structures, to be completed in record time. Providing additional gas heated storage, and a new loading canopy, at a fraction of the cost of a permanent build, the two new additional buildings offered Sertec all the flexibility and durability that a Spaciotempo solution can offer. Scott concludes; “The potential to link together temporary buildings, to increase and reduce storage space dependent on business need, and the ability to completely relocate a temporary structure on site really does give Spaciotempo the edge over more traditional builds.”
