As part of a multi-million-pound makeover for the zoo, Twycross Zoo in Warwickshire wanted to create a new retail haven. As such, they turned to Spaciotempo to create a bespoke temporary store. The new temporary building maximises retail opportunities and support the work of the zoo on major worldwide conservation projects.
As part of a multi-million-pound makeover for the zoo, they wanted to create a new retail haven. Twycross Zoo in Warwickshire turned to Spaciotempo, to create a bespoke temporary store measuring 10m x 20m on an eave of 3m.
The new temporary structure houses a shop which blends seamlessly in to its environment with rustic wooden panelling and distinctive Twycross Zoo branding. Stocking a wide range of fair-trade, ethically-sourced and ecologically sustainable products, 100% of the profits from the shop support the zoo’s work in animal conservation and welfare, both at home and abroad.
The Spaciotempo 10m x 20m temporary retail store, delivers ample space for the array of toys, gifts, souvenirs and books on display. It also has an eave height of 3m which allows for full length shelving – maximising the usable wall space for display. The temporary shop was supplied with a double-glazed shop front which not only allows in plenty of natural light, but offers vital window presentation space to entice in potential customers. Heating and lighting were also supplied by Spaciotempo, and the zoo’s staff suggested the natural wood interior that provides the perfect finish to the retail outlet.
Project Executive, Sandra Cawthra commented, “We are delighted with the transformation of the Welcome Area and the uplift in sales since the opening of the new shop. Indeed, the new temporary building has proved so successful that the zoo has already placed an order for two more similar units.”
