Spaciotempo came to the rescue following a huge fire which destroyed a large part of Wilmslow Garden Centre in Cheshire, leaving four greenhouses completely burned out. Our solution was to install a bespoke temporary garden centre, providing an extremely quick and affordable temporary retail store.
When a huge fire destroyed a large part of Wilmslow Garden Centre in Cheshire, Spaciotempo came to the rescue. With 70 firefighters battling through the blaze to bring it under control, it left four greenhouses completely burned out.
Spaciotempo could respond immediately to the supermarket’s call. And because of our flexible in-house manufacturing and agility of in-house installation, we could complete the installation of a brand-new temporary garden centre within a matter of days.
Measuring 30m by 30m and 4.2m high at the eave, the temporary building was erected, giving the garden centre a light and roomy trading space until it built a permanent replacement. Inside, along with sturdy doors and windows, a full turnkey package was created to include heating, a temporary kitchen area, staff and customer toilets, a cash office and a canteen. Thanks to Spaciotempo, the centre was able to start selling craft and garden products again, as well as re-opening its popular coffee shop.
Scott Jameson, Spaciotempo’s Managing Director said, “We pride ourselves on manufacturing and supplying state-of-the-art temporary retail structures that are attractive as well as functional and sturdy, so we are delighted that the building has served the garden centre so well on all three counts.”
“We have many years’ of experience in this type of disaster recovery work and we pulled out all the stops to provide a temporary building that would suit Wilmslow Garden Centre’s needs ready for the Christmas rush. I understand that their customers were impressed by the temporary garden centre and, while it’s always pleasing when companies say they are happy with our products and services, it’s even better when they get positive feedback from their customers too.”
