Imerys Ceramics News

Imerys Ceramics is a world leading supplier of industrial mineral solutions for sanitary ware, tableware and tile manufacturers. With 50 sites across 21 countries the company’s UK presence is strategically located in Cliffe Vale in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent. A new temporary warehouse was recently installed at the Potteries plant by us, to assist the company with their need for additional storage space following diversification in to new markets.

The temporary warehouse is an off-the-shelf solution from our TempAstor range and has been rented to the company for an initial period of 3 years. Totalling 300sqm it was supplied complete with an electrically operated roller shutter door, a personnel door, steel cladding and all lighting. The temporary warehouse was erected on to a purpose built concrete pad by our installation team using a patented fixing system which ensures the structure provides snow and wind loadings equivalent to permanent buildings.

Imerys Ceramics opted for a temporary building thanks to the ability to locate it next to existing production facilities on site. This provided a more convenient solution than off-site facilities.

Paul Munday, Plant Manager for Imerys, was delighted with the support provided by the team at Spaciotempo; “We have been assisted every step of the way by Spaciotempo. They were able to assist us with the drawings to submit to the Council for planning permission and they visited us at the site several times to ensure the building was located in the optimum spot to support our business. The fast installation time ensured that there was minimal disruption to production which was critical for us.”
