Spaciotempo helps Haskins Garden Centre to grow

Spaciotempo is helping a popular East Grinstead garden centre to grow thanks to the installation of a state-of-the-art temporary store.

Haskins at Snowhill chose the UK’s leading supplier of temporary buildings to provide the best possible retail environment for its customers, while work to create a new permanent facility is underway.

The 1,575sqm structure has proved popular since the first green-fingered customers were welcomed inside on March 2.

Haskins Store Manager Dave Lilley said the reaction of customers and employees had been extremely positive.

He added: “We all absolutely love the building. The quality of the finish is so good that a lot of people have asked if it is the new permanent garden centre! At Haskins, we believe in providing our customers with the highest quality products and service, so we wanted a temporary building to reflect that ethos.

“Spaciotempo’s product exceeded our expectations while remaining reasonably priced, particularly given the high spec that we opted for. We were impressed with the whole team, all of whom were professional from the start of the process right through to the end.”

Welcoming

The retail space comprises a trio of gutter-linked units which house everything that visitors expect to see in a modern garden centre.

The facility boasts a plant area as well as a retail space where customers can purchase garden furniture, garden sundry products, clothing and gifts.

The facility, consisting of three units measuring 15m x 35m, also has a comfortable 180-seat café where customers can relax and enjoy a drink and a bite to eat after a busy day of shopping.

The plant area is housed in a further two units, measuring 15m x 30m, which are attached to the main building. Perforated walls and a specially designed roof allow more air and light into the section.

To create a welcoming environment, the TempAstor-style building has been insulated with a thermo roof and gables as well as being fitted with a heating system.

There are three single doors, eight double glazed windows and lighting.

The building will stay in place for approximately a year while the old store is demolished and a new one is constructed on the same site.

Dean Ridley, Operations Manager at Haskins Garden Centre, added: “The temporary store is the perfect solution for us and we are really impressed with it. We did an awful lot of homework on various suppliers before we decided to work with Spaciotempo because it was vital that the building was just right.

“Our dedication definitely paid off as the building is brilliant – it is spacious, well-insulated and has all the features we need, including a café area, to operate a successful garden centre.”
