Global company praises Spaciotempo for providing the ‘perfect solution’
A global company that manufactures cutting-edge packaging machinery has invested in a dedicated temporary workshop where it can fine-tune a revolutionary new product.
The company is developing a high-tech assembly system that can deliver better results than ever for one of its key customers.
The Norfolk-based business designs and manufactures flow wrapping and packaging machinery for industries that produce fresh goods, snack foods, greetings cards and pharmaceuticals to name but a few.
It has installed the semi-permanent workshop on the over flow car park at its headquarters, eliminating off-site rental costs by utilising the space already available and maximising the company’s existing assets.
It also means that valuable time is not wasted transporting component parts between two locations and the whole team’s expertise and knowledge is on hand should it be called upon.
General Manager Gary Howard explained: “When I was asked to source a building to showcase, develop and test the new equipment, I looked into a range of options, including renting a unit off-site and hiring a marquee-style structure.
“However, we felt that there were potential implications with these choices in terms of cost, security, loss of time and, most importantly, the happiness of our employees who would be working in the accommodation.
“After researching temporary buildings, I knew it would be the perfect solution for us. I didn’t hesitate to call Spaciotempo and the very next day Tim, the Area Sales Manager, carried out a site visit. I was extremely impressed with the speed of which Tim responded and the timeframe in which the building could be installed. We needed the workshop to be up and running asap and were given a very impressive timeframe of just one week – which came to fruition.”
Gary added: “Tim explained everything clearly, so we knew what was happening and when throughout the entire installation. As soon as I pressed ‘go’, Spaciotempo was ready to respond which was exactly what I wanted. The process was made extremely easy for me, so I could just get on with my day job and there was no disruption to the business when the building was being put up.”
The TempAstor-style structure covers a 250sqm footprint and has been fitted with a thermo roof and gables for added insultation. It features two single personnel doors and one electric roller shutter door, four 250W high bay lights and guttering.
Gary added: “The building itself is robust, looks great and provides the safety and security that we need. We initially hired it for between four and six months – it was great to have the flexibility of a short-term contract – but we are so pleased with it that we will probably look to extend the agreement as well as to hire another building from Spaciotempo when the project enters phase two.”
