Strikes relaunches thanks to Spaciotempo

Spaciotempo Helps Strikes Relaunch Just in Time for Summer Holidays

Strikes Garden Centre has fully reopened to the public, less than four months after a devastating fire which almost totally burned it to the ground.

The popular garden centre in Stokesley, North Yorkshire, managed to salvage and re-open part of its plant area a month after suffering a major blaze in April. Now, thanks to help from temporary building specialists Spaciotempo, the centre opened the doors to its temporary home on Thursday 26th July.

David Yardley, Chief Executive at Klondyke Group which owns Strikes, said “We would like to thank our loyal customers and the local community for their support in the wake of the fire that destroyed our previous building in April.

“Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Strikes will embark on an exciting new chapter as it re-opens in its temporary base. Spaciotempo, which supplied the building, worked incredibly hard to ensure that we were up and running in time for our peak summer season and that the building looks first-class.

“We are very much looking forward to welcoming our customers to the new-look garden centre where they will find all the facilities they know and love us for, from our fabulous plant area to a 170-seat restaurant and gift shop.”

The temporary building spans 2,025sqm in total, and is set to be in place for the next 12-18 months while the permanent site is cleared and rebuilt. It is equipped bespoke glazed doors, LED lights and windows, and also comes with climate control, including heating and air conditioning.

Managing Director of Spaciotempo Scott Jameson said: “We are delighted that Strikes will be opening its doors to customers this week after suffering such a devastating blow earlier in the year.

“The garden centre has a special place in the hearts of Stokesley residents and it was sorely missed when it was closed. We are pleased that we have been able to play a key part in helping the business to re-launch in time for the summer, which is guaranteed to be an extremely busy season thanks to the glorious weather we are enjoying.

“Strike’s temporary base has been kitted out with all the features and facilities that customers expect to see in a garden centre – as well as many more. It is the perfect base for the business to operate from while work on a permanent structure is carried out.”
