Temporary is a term used a lot by experts in our industry, including ourselves. It is used in the context of the buildings being easily demountable and relocatable though, and nothing to do with their quality. Our frame is designed and manufactured to comply with the exact same Eurocode standards as a permanent structure. Some of our buildings have been in situ for 25+ years, so with Spaciotempo, your building is built to last. ### How much does a temporary building cost? [The cost of a temporary building can vary widely based on several key factors.](https://www.spaciotempo.co.uk/news-insights/how-much-does-a-temporary-building-cost) Considering these factors can be a great starting point to understand why pricing can fluctuate wildly. The size and specification, the build location, the duration of use, and any bespoke customisation options added can all affect the total cost. Unlike others, at Spaciotempo we’ll only issue a quote after being fully satisfied our site visit(s) and drawings have left you fully satisfied. That way, there are no hidden costs or catches further down the line. To get a precise cost estimate, speak with us and we’ll offer a tailored quote based on these variables. ### Do we need planning permission? Generally, if the temporary building is going to be in place for more than 28 days and the footprint bigger than 100m2, planning permission will need to be obtained. There are multiple other factors, such as exemptions and retrospective applications, to consider too. Understanding the process can also help speed things up, and knowing about regulatory differences in Scotland, Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland may also be beneficial. Our process means we manufacture in house and by virtue, control our own supply chain to deliver solutions in shorter timescales. Generally, from order to delivery it takes around 6-8 weeks for our expert operations team to be on site. The install process is always much quicker than a traditional building but depends on the size and complexity of the structure. For example, a small standalone industrial canopy can be installed in a single day, a standard off-the-shelf temporary warehouse in less than a week and a bespoke and heavily customised temporary building up to a few months. ### Do temporary buildings need foundations? In instances where our carbon steel base plates can be anchored directly to **existing** hard standing ground meaning that generally, no groundworks are required because of the lightweight yet durable qualities of the metal. Where the ground is not suitable or too unlevel to build on, we may ask for a concrete pad to be laid before work commences.
