GL events UK is currently comprised of seven business units across the country. The Marketing team supports all business units and is comprised of four Marketing Managers and two Marketing Executives who all report to the Director of Marketing and CSR.

We are recruiting for a Marketing Manager to join the Spaciotempo team, based in Uttoxeter.

 

This a stand-alone role within the Uttoxeter office, reporting into the wider GL events UK Marketing team based in Castle Donington. The role reports to the Director of Marketing and CSR for GL events UK and benefits from the support of shared marketing executive, graphic design and photography resource within the team. The role has no direct reports.

The Marketing Manager will be expected to lead new business generation initiatives, across the spectrum of marketing activity, building a strong working relationship with the sales team, and supporting business development activity.

Job description

Spaciotempo launched a new website in Q1 of 2025. Since 2024 it has used Hubspot as a CRM.

  • Continuously review the performance of the website as a lead generation tool and in terms of UX and alongside our digital agency partner, develop, trial and report on improvements.
  • Develop and implement a strong SEO strategy, supported by our digital agency partner.
  • Oversee and report on paid advertising campaigns and contribute to UK Group strategy to ensure campaigns consistently deliver a high level of quality new business enquiries into the business.
  • Provide monthly reporting on performance and ROI of marketing activity to Director of Marketing, produce monthly reporting to the Sales Team, and produce board reporting pack on a bi-monthly basis.
  • Maximise impact of Hubspot as a marketing tool through email marketing, automation and workflows.
  • Develop blog content and digital case studies.
  • Develop and manage the social media strategy, supporting the Marketing Executive in content creation and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities for case study and project photography and liaise with relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage exhibitor presence at trade shows and identify opportunities to raise profile and support business development through trade association activity and other activity.
  • Survey customers to collect data on customer satisfaction – via telephone / email.
  • Maintain awareness of the market through industry press and social media and contribute to compilation of regular competitor analysis reports and mystery shopping.

In addition to their Spaciotempo responsibilities they may be required to undertake marketing tasks for other business units within the UK Group, based on the fluctuating workload between units.

The successful applicant

We are looking for an all-round marketer, with particular expertise in digital marketing to a B2B audience. Educated to degree level or equivalent, the ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience in an equivalent B2B role with a strong sales focus and will be keen to develop to the next level in their marketing career and take on greater responsibility.

Essential criteria:

  • Understanding of B2B lead generation, SEO and PPC
  • Experience of managing PPC campaigns in association with a digital agency
  • Experience of creating and implementing an SEO Strategy
  • Experience of website content creation and monitoring website performance through tools such as Analytics and Hotjar.
  • Experience of reporting and marketing via a CRM (ideally Hubspot)
  • Strong written communication skills and accuracy
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Word/Excel/Powerpoint);
  • Strong organisational skills, an ability to multi-task and an eye for detail
  • A proven ability to work to deadline
  • Confident use of social media channels
  • An outgoing personality who can build a strong working relationship with internal stakeholders including sales team, and leadership team
  • A willingness to travel if required (Full Clean Driving Licence)

Desirable criteria:

  • Experience of exhibition planning and co-ordination;
  • Experience of photography;
  • Experience of Adobe InDesign;
  • Experience of market research and competitor analysis.
