The customer

Barrio Padel bring high-quality padel facilities into the heart of local communities. Their aim is to create welcoming, inclusive, and social spaces that are accessible to players of all abilities, helping communities develop around one of the world's fastest-growing sports.

As a result, providing an attractive environment for players was key and made choosing the right structure critical when they decided to install 4 new padel courts in Nottingham.

Requirements

Barrio Padel contacted Spaciotempo in July while searching for a new solution that would allow them to provide all weather play for 4 padel courts. Our area sales manager Josh Warren Visited Site to discuss their requirements.

They needed a canopy solution to maintain a bright and airy environment that would blend sympathetically with the iconic setting. It was clear they needed a long-term, robust alternative to more traditional sports structures.

The solution

After a discussion with Josh and quotes from multiple other providers Barrio padel opted for a Spaciotempo canopy structure with canvas sides for added weather protection.

Their decision to choose Spaciotempo came down to the durability of our semi-permanent canopies ensuring the long-term reliability of the facility.

A successful installation

Spaciotempo supplied and installed a 30m x 50m x 8m semi-permanent canopy complete with custom canvas sidewalls.

One of the key challenges was incorporating the bespoke sidewalls. While canvas sides are not a typical feature of Spaciotempo's canopy structures, the team developed a solution that successfully balanced enhanced weather protection with the need for a bright, open atmosphere.

The build was completed in just four weeks, including installation of the canvas sides. This provided a significantly faster delivery than opting for a traditional structure and minimised disruption to activities at the National Water Sports Centre.

Outcome

The completed facility provides four covered premium padel courts within a modern, attractive environment that supports year-round play.

Rather than simply seeking a contractor, Barrio Padel was looking for a trusted partner capable of supporting its wider ambitions. Spaciotempo worked closely with the client to understand both the practical requirements of the facility and the companies vision. The success of the project has led to continued discussions regarding future padel developments at additional locations across the UK, supporting Barrio Padel's mission to bring high-quality padel facilities to more communities nationwide.
