The customer
The Very Group is one of the UK’s leading digital retailers, combining a broad portfolio of well-known brands and products. Operating primarily through its flagship brand, Very, the company serves over four million active customers with annual revenues of around £2 billion and a strong focus on innovation and customer experience.
Requirements
In 2023 the Very Group first approached Spaciotempo to help improve their on-site operations. They needed additional covered space for loading and unloading and wanted to add a new covered tipping area.
This was just the beginning of an ongoing partnership with The Very Group which has gone from strength to strength over the last three years. They later turned to Spaciotempo again in 2025 and 2026 requesting additional structures to help make the most of the space on site.
The solution
Following an initial consultation, Area Sales Manager Josh Warren visited the site to assess the available space and discuss possible options. It quickly became clear that additional covered areas would deliver significant benefits for site operations.

With a solution identified, The Very Group was keen to move the project forward and placed an order within just a month of the site visit. Thanks to the speed and flexibility of our temporary building solutions, we were then able to complete the installation of the first structure within two months, allowing the business to begin realising the benefits almost immediately. This marked the start of an ongoing relationship, with The Very Group returning to Spaciotempo on multiple occasions as its operational requirements continued to grow.

Build 1: Covered Tipping Area
The first project for The Very Group was a 25m x 30m x 6m demountable loading canopy, installed to create a dedicated covered tipping area. Positioned alongside the site's existing stock storage warehouses, the canopy provided valuable protection from the weather while helping loading and unloading operations run smoothly.
After using the structure, The Very Group identified a need for even greater weather protection and got back in touch with us to make further improvements. We returned to modify the building, adding a fully clad gable end with three new openings for vehicle access, as well as a hard gable triangle at the rear of the structure. The upgrades improved the functionality of the structure for Very Group helping keep the site moving and goods safe throughout the year.

Build 2: Bespoke Temporary Warehouse Space
Pleased with the success of the first project, The Very Group returned to Spaciotempo in 2025. The Spaciotempo team installed a new Xm x Xm x Xm warehouse structure. The location of the second structure presented some challenges, with the site narrowing away at the rear of the warehouse. To make the most of the available area, we designed and installed two linked structures: a larger building connected to a smaller adjoining structure. This solution maximised the footprint without compromising access or operations, giving The Very Group the extra space they needed within the constraints of the site.

Build 3: Additional Loading Canopies
As demand for covered operational space continued to grow, we delivered a third project comprising two gutter-linked loading canopies measuring 25m x 25m x 6m and 30m x 25m x 6m.
The new canopies created a large, weather-protected loading and unloading area, allowing site operations to continue efficiently in all conditions. The additional covered space helped support the ongoing movement of stock while providing a more comfortable and reliable working environment for staff.

The Outcome:
The installation of multiple covered structures has delivered a range of operational and financial benefits for The Very Group. By creating additional protected space across the site, the business has been able to increase its storage capacity and make better use of existing operational areas.
The covered facilities also help reduce the risk of stock being damaged by adverse weather, protecting valuable products and helping to minimise the costs associated with lost or spoiled inventory. At the same time, the structures provide a safer and more comfortable working environment for employees by offering year-round protection from rain, wind and direct sunlight.
A particularly valuable benefit has been the protection provided around shipping containers. During warmer months, containers can become extremely hot, creating challenging conditions for staff working in and around them. The loading canopies provide much-needed shade, helping to improve comfort, support employee wellbeing and maintain productivity throughout the day. Combined, these benefits have helped The Very Group create a more efficient, resilient and weather-proof operation that supports both its people and its logistics processes.
