To enable Scania’s site in Widnes to expand, they needed extra on site storage space. A place for vehicles to be stored before and after their service, so not taking up a workshop bay. They turned to the leading supplier of temporary buildings, Spaciotempo, for an onsite temporary warehouse. We provided them with a 10m by 20m Neivalu temporary warehouse, giving them an additional 200sqm of onsite space.
At Scania’s Widnes site, they are dedicated to servicing their large vehicles and customising them to fit their customers needs. They provide transport solutions for a large range of sectors including industrial. This enables companies to continue efficiently while also reducing their carbon footprint. Their site consists of four bay service workshops, which enables Scania to offer a full range of commercial vehicle services including: MOT preparation, trailer servicing and accident management. But these were not enough for Scania, so approached Spaciotempo for a temporary warehouse solution.
To enable the site to increase their incoming business, they needed extra on-site storage space. A place for vehicles to be stored before and after their service, so not taking up a workshop bay. They turned to the leading supplier of temporary buildings, Spaciotempo, for an onsite temporary warehouse.
Having over 40 years’ experience within a range of industries, we knew exactly how to solve their lack of onsite storage space. We provided them with a 10m by 20m Neivalu temporary warehouse, which can be easily removed and adapted to their needs, giving them an additional 200sqm of onsite space. It had a 5m eave height, allowing vehicles to be easily stored and two electric roller shutter doors, for easy access. With no need for foundations unlike a permanent building, this Spaciotempo temporary warehouse saved Scania money and time, due to quick installation times and low upfront costs.
Due to staff occasionally working within the temporary warehouse, Scania opted for insulated walling. This meant the temperature within the temporary structure could be maintained. So, during cold winter months or hot summers, staff are comfortable and able to work within the warehousing, as well as the workshop bays on site. Additionally, they required a thermo roof and gables, which reduces condensation. So, when vehicles are within the temporary warehouse they are not getting damp and potentially rusty. The thermo roof works by using a PVC polyester membrane envelope, which is inflated with a low-pressure automatic pump. Alongside these, their temporary warehouse consisted of two single personnel doors, six LED lights and 40m of guttering (20m each side).
